So boom, I start college as a nursing major
and a year later, I realize that I would rather count rice grain by grain than to take another biology course. Needing a change immediately, I jumped to my next immediate interest— communication. At the time, I had NO CLUE what I was getting myself into. When I saw “Video I” on my schedule I almost jumped ship again not knowing the first thing about a 4k camera let alone journalism.
Or so I thought.
That Video I class gave me not only knowledge, but a gentle reminder of where I came from and a vote of confidence from my childhood self. I realized that my whole life, I had been fascinated by all things media. From listening to 107.5 WGCI in the morning on the way to school, to watching FOX Chicago 32 news at bedtime, I have been a lifelong fan of media & journalism!
In my senior year at the University of St. Francis, I am now a Communication & Media Arts major with focuses in Video Production & Broadcasting. I have been able to intern with the Midday Live cast at iHeart Media in Chicago, IL, started my own radio show “Tuned in with Trin-LI” at my college station, anchored for my school’s newscast and created podcasts “Talk Yo Sh!t” and “On the Come Up”. Check out some of my work!
